"

The setting sun painted the sky with vibrant hues of orange and pink, casting a warm glow over the beachside garden where Ethan and Alex stood beneath a rustic wooden arch adorned with billowing white fabric and delicate blue flowers. Seated among rows of white chairs were their friends and family, their faces illuminated by the soft light of the setting sun. Ethan's heart swelled with a mixture of excitement and trepidation as he gazed into Alex's eyes, his long time finance soon to be husband. After years of the struggle, years of humiliation, years of fear and tears, he was finally facing the love of his life. The scent of saltwater mingled with the sweet aroma of flowers, creating a sensory symphony that enveloped the couple in a cocoon of love and anticipation.

But amidst the joy and celebration of a love that was about to be sealed in holy matrimony, a shadow loomed over Ethan's heart. Mia, his lifelong friend and confidante, was noticeably absent from the gathering. Her absence cast a pall over the otherwise joyful occasion, leaving Ethan with a sense of unease that he couldn't shake. Despite the laughter and chatter of the guests, Ethan's thoughts kept drifting back to Mia, her absence a conspicuous void in the midst of the celebration.

As he spoke his vows to Alex, promising to love and cherish him for all eternity, Ethan couldn't help but feel a pang of guilt for moving forward without Mia by his side.

He fought hard to push the thoughts aside and continued to profess those words of loyalty that bound him to Alex, but, memories of Mia wouldn't let him be, they flooded his mind like a tidal wave crashing against the shores of his consciousness. He could almost feel her presence beside him, her warmth enveloping him like a comforting embrace, her laughter echoing in the recesses of his memory. But as he looked out into the sea of faces gathered before him, he realized with a sinking feeling that she was nowhere to be found. A sense of longing washed over him, mingling with the joy and excitement of the moment, leaving Ethan to grapple with the conflicting emotions swirling within him.

The ceremony progressed and Ethan found himself drifting in and out of the present moment, his thoughts consumed by memories of Mia. He recalled the countless conversations they had shared, the dreams they had dared to dream together. He remembered the way her eyes would light up with excitement as they discussed every detail of his upcoming wedding, her enthusiasm infectious as they planned and prepared for the big day. And yet, here he stood, exchanging vows with Alex, his heart heavy with the absence of his best friend.

Amidst the whirlwind of emotions, Ethan and Alex exchanged rings, their hands trembling with nervous excitement as they sealed their commitment to each other. Cheers erupted from the gathered guests, their voices mingling with the crashing waves in a cacophony of celebration. Ethan's family and friends rushed forward to engulf the newlyweds in congratulatory hugs, their faces alight with joy and pride. But even as they basked in the warmth of their loved ones' embrace, Ethan couldn't shake the gnawing sense of dread that lingered in the depths of his soul. Mia's absence weighed heavily on him, casting a shadow over what should have been the happiest day of his life vows with Alex.

In the midst of the ceremony, Ethan's mind wandered back to a time when he and Mia had shared a moment of intimacy that had left an indelible mark on his soul. It was a warm summer evening, much like this one, and they had been sitting on the beach, watching the sunset paint the sky with vibrant hues of orange and pink. As the gentle waves lapped at the shore, Mia had turned to him with a look of longing in her eyes, her lips parting in a soft, hesitant smile.

"I wish things could be different," she had whispered, her voice barely audible over the sound of the ocean. "I wish I could be the one standing by your side, Irish." She mumbled endearingly. Irish was a name she'd given him when she discovered his Irish roots years ago. At first, he'd hated it, but, as time went on, it just stuck.

Admist her admission, Ethan had felt a surge of emotion welling up inside him, a mixture of desire, guilt and sadness that threatened to consume him. He knew it was only but a fantasy, but still, it didn't stop him from reaching out to her, his hand trembling as it brushed against her cheek, his heart pounding in his chest as he leaned in to kiss her. In that fleeting moment were their parted lips fused together in a perfect fit, Ethan realized how much his need for her had grown in the few months they'd began exploring this new side of their relationship.

But as quickly as it had begun, the moment had passed, leaving Ethan to grapple with the reality of his situation. He was about to marry the man he loved, yet his heart still ached for the woman who had captured his soul so completely. And as he exchanged vows with Alex, Ethan couldn't shake the feeling that he was betraying not only himself, but Alex as well.

The ceremony drew to a close, applause filling the air as Ethan and Alex shared their first kiss as husbands. But even as cheers erupted around them, Ethan's heart ached with the absence of Mia, her presence lingering like a ghost at the edges of his consciousness. And as he turned to face the future with Alex by his side, Ethan couldn't help but wonder what might have been if he had chosen a different path.
***
The reception unfolded in a whirlwind of celebration and joy, the air filled with laughter and music as friends and family gathered to toast the newlyweds. The garden sparkled with fairy lights, casting a warm glow over the festivities, and the aroma of freshly cooked food wafted through the air, tantalizing the senses.

The newly weds made their grand entrance, Alex aglow with so much happiness and Ethan holding a small smile while the crowd erupted into cheers and applause. Ethan couldn't help but feel grateful at the sight of their loved ones gathered around them, their voices blending together in a chorus of well-wishes and congratulations.

The toasts flowed freely, each one accompanied by the clinking of glasses and the sound of laughter. Ethan's mum, her eyes shining with pride, raised her glass in a heartfelt tribute to her son and his new husband, her words filled with love and admiration.

But amidst the celebration, Ethan's eyes kept drifting to the empty seat reserved for Mia, a pang of longing gripping his heart each time he saw it. He had hoped against hope that she would show up, her presence a balm to soothe the ache in his soul. But as the evening wore on and Mia remained conspicuously absent, Ethan's heart sank lower and lower, the weight of her absence crushing him with each passing moment.
At another end of the hall, the parents of the newly Weds, gush over their children. Ethan's mother, a figure in his life who has been absolutely supportive from the moment he clean about his sexuality, was particularly happy that her son's dream to be the with man he loved was a reality without any from of prejudice from the guests.
"Isn't this just magical?" She exclaimed, her eyes shining with pride as she surveyed the scene before her.

"Absolutely," replied Ethan's dad, a broad smile lighting up his face. "Our boy deserves every bit of happiness."

Meanwhile, Alex's parents mingled with the guests, exchanging pleasantries and compliments about the beautiful ceremony.
Mia's mother, who looked Divine in her blue Aline dress, made her way towards Ethan's mother. Her face shone with her bright smile, ignoring the lingering feeling of unease that her eldest child had missed the wedding of her best friend.
As soon as the two women see, the embrace each other complementing one another whole heatedly.
As expected, questions about Mia surfaced, her mother didn't have the answers so she left it at that, wondering along with them why Mia had decided not to show. She assured them that her daughter was fine to reduce their fear.
Turning to the couple, Mia's mother whispered, "Look at them," tears welling up in her eyes. "They make such a beautiful couple. I wish this exactly this for my Mia."

"To Ethan and Alex!" shouted one of the groom's men raising his glass high. "May your love continue to grow stronger with each passing day!"

They toasted yet again and Ethan finally broke inside. He had to see Mia and talk to her. As if on cue, he spotted her sister elegantly make her way towards him wearing a very nervous smile.
"Congratulations!" She beamed, pulling Alex in for a tight embrace before turning to hug Ethan.
"Thank you so much for coming and I have to say, your dress is gorgeous!" Alex praised.

In their brief embrace, Ethan whispered conspicuously in Jess's ear, "Where's Mia?" there was a tight edge in his voice, he tried to control it, but it was too late. Jess had heard it.

In order not to scare her away, he quickly added, calmly "She didn't take my calls or answers texts. Is she okay?"

Jess shook her head "I have no idea what's up with that girl" she replied a frown creasing her brow. "She wasn't home when I woke up Mama's been trying to reach her, same with Dad and Marcus, turns out she left her phone home." she lamented. "I know she's fine, she eventually put a call through to Mama. I'm so sorry Ethan, she messed up real bad not to show up."

Alex, noticed how his husband tensed by his side immediately the words of Mia's absence fell off Jess's lips. He was disappointed she hadn't shown up, he didn't understand why she just bailed on them when she'd been an active part of the planning of his wedding. Hearing that even her sister had no idea of her whereabout, he became worried for her.

"What's wrong? You know why Mia's not here? Is she okay?" he asked, his voice soft with worry.

Ethan forced a smile, his mask of joy slipping into place as he reassured his husband that everything was fine. "Yeah! She's fine. She called her Mom moments ago."
Alex eased up and went in to mingle with the guest, while Ethan sank deeper into his own dispair.

And so, feeling horribly restless and unable to bear it any longer, Ethan excused himself from his own reception when he noticed Alex attention was on the guests, his voice echoing the loudest with hearty laughter.

Without anyone really noticing, Ethan's steps heavy with determination pulled him out of semi crowed venue. The night air was cool against his skin as he stepped outside, the soft glow of the moon casting eerie shadows on the deserted streets.

With a sense of purpose driving him forward, Ethan climbed into his car and set out into the night, the familiar streets of their hometown stretching out before him like an endless labyrinth of memories. His mind raced as along with his vehicle, taking him to the one place he knew she'll be, right next to the sea.

As he neared the beach, Ethan's heart quickened with anticipation, the sound of crashing waves filling the air with a soothing rhythm. Pulling into the empty parking lot, he scanned the shoreline for any sign of Mia, realizing that Mia may not be where he expected her, considering she didn't show up for his own wedding, she was a bag of surprises, horrible surprises bit surprises still. When the realization sank in, the light of his hope on seeing her grew dim. Then, by an act of mercy, his gaze caught a familiar silhouette seated on the sand.

There she was, just as he had expected, her head bowed and her figure bathed in the soft glow of the moonlight. Mia's presence was a balm to his wounded soul, her beauty a stark reminder of everything he had lost.

With a surge of emotion, first deep seated relief that she was okay and then simmering rage that she was actually okay, coursing through him, Ethan stepped out of his car, the sound of the slamming door echoing in the stillness of the night. His fists clenched at his sides as he made his way towards her, his anger simmering just beneath the surface, ready to boil over at any moment.

"Why weren't you there?" Ethan's voice sliced through the night air like a blade, his eyes ablaze with frustration as he confronted Mia on the beach.

Mia jolted like she'd touched a naked wire and she turned, her heart skipped a beat at the sight of him, her eyes widening in surprise and disbelief. Ethan, even in the growing darkness, looked absolutely ravishing in his white suit. His hair tinted blue, which was a little over grown, moved slightly with the breeze.

Mia quickly blinked away tears, her cheeks still wet with evidence of her earlier distress. Rising slowly to her feet, her body tense with a mixture of emotions, she met his deep green eyes that held pools of fire within them, with defiance.

"What are you doing here?" she asked, her voice calm but tinged with underlying anger as she wiped away the tears that threatened to spill from her eyes. She evaded his question, with another question, refusing to acknowledge the truth of her absence at his wedding.

Ethan's jaw clenched at her composed demeanor, his frustration bubbling to the surface. "Don't play dumb with me, Mia," he growled, his voice low and menacing as he closed the distance between them. "You know exactly why I'm here."

Mia's eyes flashed with indignation at his accusation, her own anger simmering beneath the surface. "Oh, I'm sorry," she retorted, her voice dripping with sarcasm. "Am I supposed to apologize for not being your dutiful little sidekick?"

Ethan's nostrils flared at her words, his patience wearing thin. "I have never expected anything from you, Mia, I have never asked for anything," he snapped, his voice tinged with frustration. "But I did expect you to be there for me when it mattered. For f***s sake, you are the maid of honor. My maid of honor. So many weeks of planning and you just f*****g bail on me!"

Mia's lips curled into a sneer, her anger boiling over. "You really thought I would be at that wedding, for real? Are you playing stupid or you actually are?" she shot back, her voice rising with every word.

Ethan's gaze hardened at her accusation, a pang of guilt stabbing at his heart. "Why do this? You could have just told me like a normal person would have" he insisted, his voice tinged with disappointment.

Mia shook her head, her eyes blazing with fury. "I didn't want to." She snapped, then, taking in a deep salty breath, she put all that anger back in it's container, and mumbled. "Please go back to your wedding. Just go away and leave me alone. You've seen me, I'm fine. Just go." she pleaded, her voice trembling with emotion.

Hurt that she was pushing him away, Ethan shifted backwards away from her, running his fingers through his hair, he gruntled, "No!"
Mia sighed at his familiar stubbornness. "Okay, you are here? What next?" She began. "We go on pretending and hiding how we both betrayed your husband?" She continued, her voice rising with each statement. "What?....You know what you are Ethan, you are selfish! A selfish, conceited prick who wants to eat his cake and have it!"

Mia couldn't quite understand her own rage at him. Was it the white suit or the new wedding band that glittered in the moon light or the fact that her stupid heart still ached for him. She always knew he would marry Alex. That was the plan from the start. She went along with it because Ethan was her best friend, her brother. She pushed her feelings aside and supported him only for him to awaken her passion and then snuff it out like a fire, douched in water. Yet, there he was acting all entitled, asking stupid obvious questions.

On hearing Mia's venomous outburst, Ethan's hands clenched into fists at his sides, his chest heaving with pent-up frustration as he glared at Mia, his eyes ablaze with anger. "You don't know anything, you stupid little thing. You know nothing of the turmoil I've had to suffer for weeks. Mia!" he seethed, his voice laced with venom. "You think you can judge me? You think you're the only one who's hurting? You think I wanted this? I never f*****g did."

Mia's lips twisted into a sneer, her eyes flashing with fury. "There you go! you you you! Always about you! What about me? Hell, what about Alex?" She cried bitterly. " You didn't want this, yet you actively went for me. Sorted me out even when we knew what we were doing was horrible. Yet you kept at it, building my hopes" she spat, her voice dripping with disdain. "You knew exactly what you were doing, you b*****d! Yet your selfish a*s drives over here and wonder why I couldn't sit and play the part of dutiful friend? News flash Ethan, I'm not you."

The air crackled with tension between them, the weight of their shared history pressing down on them like a suffocating blanket. Ethan felt his temper reaching a boiling point, his anger threatening to consume him whole.

"You're just as selfish as I am," he shot back, his voice raw with emotion. "You could have fought it, yet you fell into it. You loved it. You loved being my w***e!"

Mia's eyes flashed with indignation, before she could stop herself, her right palm connected with his rough cheek, hard. "How dare you?" she growled, her voice laced with fury. "F*****g prick, how dare you spit that? You piece of s**t. You started this. You!", She spat spitefully, hitting his chest with her balled fists.

The words hung heavy in the air between them, a bitter reminder of the rift that had formed between them. Ethan felt his heart constricting with pain, his anger giving way to a deep sense of sorrow.

"I hate you," Mia whispered, "so so much!" her voice barely audible over the crashing waves.

The admission hung in the air like a dark cloud, casting a pall over the already tense atmosphere. Ethan felt as though he had been punched in the gut, the weight of her words crushing him beneath their unbearable weight.

"I hate you too," he whispered back, his voice choked with emotion.

And with that, their fragile bond shattered into a million irreparable pieces, leaving nothing but the echoing silence of their shattered dreams.

Mia looked at him right in the eyes. "I hope you have a happy life Ethan. But I will not be a part of it. I'm leaving. You'll never see me again, I swear it" She dropped, tears flew quickly down her face.

As Mia uttered the words, a surge of panic surged through Ethan like a tidal wave, drowning out all rational thought. Without hesitation, he grabs her by the hair when she attempts to walk out on him, turns her to face him and before she could scream her protest, he captures her lightly dark lips in a desperate, bruising kiss. His hands moved with urgency, tangling in her hair as he pulled her closer, his need for her consuming him completely.

Mia responded with equal fervor, her hands clutching at his shirt as she melted into his embrace. The anger and frustration that had simmered between them moments ago now transformed into raw, unbridled passion, igniting a fire that threatened to consume them both.

With a sense of urgency, Ethan broke the kiss, his chest heaving as he locked gaze with Mia pools of deep brown, his gaze intense and unyielding. Without a word, he reached for her hand, his grip firm as he pulled her along with him towards his car.

Mia stumbled slightly, her resistance evident in the tension of her body, but Ethan was relentless, his determination unwavering. He guided her to the passenger side of the car, his movements swift and purposeful, and without hesitation, they climbed inside.

As soon as the door closed behind them, Ethan turned to Mia once more, his lips crashing against hers with a newfound desperation. In that moment, nothing else mattered but the heat of their bodies pressed together, their passion reignited with a ferocity that threatened to consume them both.

In the confined space of the car, Ethan's hands moved with purpose, his touch igniting a fire within Mia that burned with a fierce intensity. With each caress, each brush of his fingertips against her skin, she felt herself surrendering to the heat of their passion.

As Ethan pulled her onto his lap, the leather of the driver's seat groaned in protest beneath their combined weight. Mia's fingers fumbled with the buttons of his white shirt, her breath catching in her throat as she felt his hardness pressing against her.

With a primal growl, Ethan's hands found their way to her hips, his touch possessive and urgent as he pulled her closer, their bodies fitting together with a perfect, undeniable symmetry. His lips sought out hers with a hunger that bordered on desperation, his kisses leaving a trail of fire in their wake.

Mia arched her back, a soft moan escaping her lips as Ethan's hands explored every inch of her body, his touch igniting a firestorm of desire within her. She gasped as his lips trailed down her neck, his fingers slipped right on her quivering apex and she screamed to the overwhelming sensation of pleasure that washed over her.

Grinding on his hardnesses, Mia cursed outloud as electric currents shot up her spine from the painful sweetness of his rod rubbing against her aching core. Ethan kept forgetting to breathe as Mia's grinding drove him mad with lust.

With a fierce determination, Ethan's hands found their way to the V of her pink romper, his fingers tracing the delicate fabric with a reverence that sent shivers down her spine. She gasped as his touch grew more urgent, his fingers grazing the sensitive skin beneath, he pushes the thin straps off her delicate shoulders, with no barricade of a bra, his eyes were greeted to the sight of her prefectly small breasts, made alive by the point of her hardened dark chocolate n*****s.

Without even as much as a thought, Ethan took one n****e in his mouth and suckled, teased and plucked at it till Mia lost control, till she clung to him desperately, as if she would die if her fingers slipped off his shoulders.

In a frenzy of desire, Ethan pulled her closer, his lips finding hers with a hunger that bordered on desperation. Their kisses grew more fervent, more urgent, until they were lost in a whirlwind of passion, their bodies moving in perfect harmony as they surrendered to the heat of their desire.

Ethan got his length poking bare through the open zipper of his white trousers, he pushed Mia's romper and panties to the side to expose her leaking entrance.

With a primal instinct, Ethan thrust into Mia. He grunted at the warmth as her insides clung unto his painfully hard length. He felt so full like he would burst, so much so, he suckled on her breasts again and again, licking, biting, rolling between his fingers while Mia started to ride him, crying out from sheer pleasure.

Soon, he took over, his movements rough and urgent as he sought to claim her completely. She moaned in ecstasy, her body responding eagerly to his touch as they moved together in a primal dance of desire.

Mia's insides instantly tightened against his length and they climaxed almost at the same time, their loud cries filled the car. Mia quavered and convulsed with her head thrown back, eyes tightly shut, toes curled and mouth wide opened. Ethan, he felt himself jet string after string of his thick seed inside her.

Weakened by their release, the two clung unto each other in a limp embrace, heaving heavily.

As the evening wore on and the sky darkened, when the heat of their passion died down into cold silence, Mia's resolve began to crumble under the weight of reality. With a choked sob, she pushed herself away from Ethan, her hands trembling as she hastily shifted her clothes in place. Tears streamed down her cheeks as she stumbled out of the car, her heart heavy with the weight of unspoken words and shattered dreams.

Ethan reached out to stop her, his heart aching with regret, but he hesitated, his hand falling back to his side as he watched her disappear into the night. He wanted to go after her, to chase her down and beg her to stay, but he knew deep down that it was too late. He had lost her, perhaps forever.

After cleaning himself up, Ethan slipped back into the wedding venue, the sounds of laughter and music washed over him like a cruel mockery of his pain. He plastered on a fake smile, forcing himself to act as if everything was fine, as if he hadn't just shattered his own heart and the heart of the woman he loved.

Alex approached him, concern etched on his face. "Where did you disappear to?" he asked, his brow furrowing with worry.

Guilt, great and crushing smashed Ethan's heart unexpected. For a moment, a very brief moment, he'd forgotten he was now a married man. He couldn't look Alex in the eye, not when his could still taste Mia's tongue lingering in his mouth.

Somehow, Ethan managed a laugh, his throat tight with unshed tears. "Just needed some fresh air," he lied, the words tasting bitter on his tongue. He couldn't bear to tell Alex the truth, to admit that he had just destroyed everything they had built together for a fleeting moment of passion.

As the night wore on, Ethan found himself replaying the events of the evening over and over in his mind, each memory a painful reminder of the choices he had made. He couldn't shake the image of Mia's tear-stained face, her words echoing in his ears like a haunting melody.

But amidst the chaos of his own turmoil, Ethan couldn't shake the nagging doubt that lingered in the back of his mind. He didn't want to believe that Mia was truly gone, that she had left him behind without so much as a backward glance. They'd fought many times, maybe not like this, but the fights were there. She never left. Somehow, they would find their way back to each other and everything would be normal again.

And so, with a heavy heart and a sense of foreboding, Ethan forced himself to push aside his doubts and uncertainties, to bury them deep beneath the facade of happiness and celebration. But deep down, he knew that the truth would always linger, a silent specter haunting his every move.
While the partying wore on, Ethan found himself enveloped in a suffocating blanket of deception, the weight of his own lies pressing down on him like a leaden weight. Each forced smile and hollow laugh felt like a betrayal, a stark reminder of the shattered dreams and broken promises that lay in their wake.
The music that once filled him with joy now grated on his nerves, each note a discordant melody that echoed the dissonance within his soul. The laughter of the guests rang hollow in his ears, a mockery of the happiness that had once seemed within his grasp.

As he moved through the crowd, Ethan felt like a ghost, a specter haunting the edges of his own life. He was trapped in a never-ending cycle of pretense, forced to play the role of the happy groom even as his heart lay in ruins.

With each passing moment, the darkness closed in around him, suffusing the air with a palpable sense of despair. The night stretched on endlessly, a bleak landscape devoid of hope or redemption.

And as Ethan watched the revelry unfold before him, he couldn't help but feel a sense of profound emptiness gnawing at his soul. For all the smiles and laughter, he was alone, adrift in a sea of his own making, with no shore in sight.
