Winter Days

Winter Days

A Poem by Amber V. Black

As fall makes its final rounds,

Winter crawls into nature;

Scarlet leaves ice over,

Children appear, dressed in bright colors

And a frozen tundra wonderland is every child’s fantasy

Cheerful music fills our ears,

And a peaceful smile is seen all around.

Inside, a family sits alongside a fire,

Reading a holiday favorite,

Twas the Night before Christmas.

Outside is a more beautiful scene,

Frozen ice over everything in sight,

Crystal diamonds hang from branches.

The newly stepped on snow crunches under our feet,

Gleaming in the sunlight,

White glitter sprinkled by the sky.

Sports fans sit inside,

Watching snowboarding, skating, skiing and more;

While some just sit inside, getting lost in a good book.

Whatever you do over this,

Cold, festive time,

Happy Holidays.

I like Winter days. Seem to be slower. A lot of time for the simple things. I like your poem. You told a very good story. A outstanding poem with a very good ending. I hope you a happy and fun Spring.
