Acceleration

Acceleration

A Poem by 李[A]
"

I just felt like writing this poem. :P It's about how time will catch up to you if you don't live life.

"

Time flies with a speed and elegance faster than that of light.
Yet, it soars with the appreciation of ruthlessness.
I’ve always wished that time would stop for me,
But, no matter how much I wish upon that star,
Time is futilely stubborn as Death.

Both juggernauts of survival:
Time eating us away before we realize what we have lost,
And Death, his accomplice,
Keep moving faster and faster.

There appears to be no end to the increasing velocity,
For neither Time nor Death have a second to spare.

Why do we throw away our time for these devils to consume?
Time is jetsam:
Never meant to be spent like a dollar at a candy store:
For children to indulge in the sweetness that leave an impression "
For life of the happiness of the time then.

Yet, although not a plethora,
Part of my subconscious always reminds me with a smirk,
That as Time and Death accelerate with great speeds,
I must too,
Living my life before the resolution comes to me.

again your a person to make people think, you intrigue them with a nice theme and then really get buried into their minds by the time it ends, don't lose that talent, its rare to come by today, i hope you do escape this inevitability so you can keep on writing more! well done!

Time is jetsam. I love that...I think I will write it as a slogan and put it on my wall. Thanks. Loved the last line the most and the rest was really good.

Dear [A],

This is a very intriguing piece. Being the physicist, however, I must correct the science. Time actually flies exactly at the speed of light. Nonetheless, I know what you mean!

Time and Death: both juggernauts of survival. Very powerful words and so perceptive. Wonderful. Time eating us away--would have preferred "eating away at us"--but the point is again powerful anyway you write it. Yes, we are nibbled upon if we're not careful. We're nibbled on if we are careful. We're just nibbled on by time anyway you slice it. So keep a move on. Enjoy life. Live life for it is ebbing away.

A very nice poem and a wonderful introduction for me to your poetry. High marks!

Very best regards,

Rick

Oh wow, this is really meaningful too! The thought of everything at once catching up to you and death at the end of it can really scare some people, but it's obvious that most people won't think of death because their life is going so slow. People who sit around and have no life will never get anywhere but people who do have a dream, a career and a passion see their life accelerate because they live for something and then it's really scary to know it all will end one day..
