I like that this view is positive. So many people complain about how terrible it is. I am always like, yes no one is perfect and the past was unfair and unkind, but we are moving in the right direction. And look at the rest of the world. There's so much disease, famine, genocide, infanticide, war and poverty! I tell people that we are spoiled. They have no idea what harsh conditions are ad are lucky to not have bombs blowing up innocent homes and kids. Thanks for writing.
A most wonderful poem!!! Your words here are so true. I'm proud to be an American. This country is blessed. Impressive work, yes indeed, impressive work here!
This sums up the founding of our fathers and all that we have fought for and stood for and the reasons we have a blessed country called U. S. A. What a wonderful prayer and poem! Let us bow our heads and thank God for all we have!
a belated Happy Independence Day to you too Amos! i love the power of the prayer in the last verse .. the syntax is a bit confusing to me but it does not take away the feelings of pride your poem inspires ..
"... we are born free and ruled
them all,..."
those lines especially puzzle me ...
overall .. a wonderful tribute to a very unique form of government, which at best, is all that :)

While I'm not an American, I still want to offer my opinion on this well written, patriotic piece of poetry.
My only critique would be the message, and it regards the American extremist ideology. I love the USA, but their borderline country fanaticism will definitely not be healthy in the long run. Loving your country and being patriotic is a wonderful thing but I keep noticing that the American pattern almost always tends to take this to the extreme, in the sense that they usually forget that other countries are inhabited by people, just like them and rush to label them as "the enemy" without much insight into the matter. I think that the mass brainwashing that is being attempted in America is the only major flaw of an otherwise beautiful and awesome country... disregarding corruption and the capitalist government, because these things are present in most countries across the globe, mine included.
This is also one thing I can admire about Americans, you certainly love your country enormously.
Please take my opinion with a grain of salt, I'm not anti-american, quite the opposite actually (I have a big USA flag on the wall, in my room). It's just my opinion of what's wrong with the American society.
As usual, this is a masterfully woven poem and it does a great job of getting across the message and love for your country. The only thing I don't necessarily agree with, is the title and the constant reference to God, as I'm an atheist. (But that's irrelevant to this review, as this is only my personal religious view). Nevertheless, you did a great job once again. Fine work. Happy 4th of July.
That was really beautiful. I am not a poet but know that there is a different way to read it and I didn't quite understand how it flowed but it showed America! Very well thought out and a the point of most opinions came across very well!
