Unearthing Life 17

Unearthing Life 17

A Poem by Anand Sehgal

The hot springs soothe us, comfort us when we take a dip.

Hot springs also may take a toll on our bodies

as various viruses get activated during this time,

and the soaring mercury takes away the appetite.

How does a spring actually spring into the life,

decides the impact of the spring as a spring.

springing into summer makes me wish for fall to come quickly...I am cold weather person...hopefully I can still keep my heart warm.
I really like the play on words in this poem...they have a strong effect on the imagery.

Yes, the very thing that can offer comfort can also become a killer in these tragic days of Covid. Heat and crowds, just what the virus loves to spread its deadlines. We live in troubled times and mass production of vaccines is required and soonest. Thank you Anand. Some parts of the world are suffering more than others and we need to be reminded of this. A topical write.
