"I Still Do... Laugh..."

"I Still Do... Laugh..."

A Poem by Chris
"

thoughts

"

"I Still Do... Laugh..."

I still do ...laugh,

just not as often as I could.

Seem strange admitting that -

here

...now.

Do you remember the color -

no, the flavor, no again -

the ... feeling ...feel ...how it felt

- wanting to be held, being held,

being touched, touching...

Do you ...REMEMBER ...me...

Really, do you?

It isn't real, wasn't, couldn't,

shouldn't ...but, always a but,

you DID feel it

being touched...

fingertips... lips...

eyes looking into yours.

You felt my breath

- the goosebumps didn't lie,

couldn't     lie...

 did they?

...sigh

Things to do,

places to - BE

pick up the pace

hurry hurry

...but don't run,

don't run...

I felt you in the

air

the taste of you within

my eyes...

your scent lingering on

my fingertips, my conscious

thoughts turning and returning

til ...I've stopped

paused mid-step

utterly ...found.

I found your diary

here

on the sea wall

pages open and fluttering back and forth

in the breeze

and with each pause

more of you appears

and appears

...and appears.

...and I've discovered what wishing

really is

...and how missing...feels.

Strange how I don't KNOW

which

words

were

...yours...

now.

There is time for laughter. Time to be found. Funny how life imitates art.

i really like this piece...there was a way it used to be...laughing was easy, love flowed...back in the day i laughed so hard i cried, and that happened often...but now i know too much, have seen to much, and everything is a bit tempered...making a little harder to laugh...sometimes a chuckle.

but growing up seems to stifle the easy laugh...reminds me of "it's too late" by carol king...

"it used to be so easy living here with you, you were light and breezy and i knew just what to do...now you look so unhappy and i feel like a fool"

guess the laughter is harder to find these days...this is so well penned, so deep, so relatable.

to this old hippie freak...

Interestingly penned

"Strange how I don't KNOW
which
words
were
...yours...
now."

It is funny how when we love someone with all that is within us we become a part of them and they us and the lines blur....
Very Nice!!

I think the wording in this as well as the way it progresses. This one is a little different from some others of yours I have read. You have a variety of emotions expressed here. Yet their reflection in the wording is wonderful.

Stared at this blank white comment box for such a long time... and found my thoughts to deep to write.

Your words leave me speechless but lost in thought. Not many can do that.

your spoken thoughts flow easily one trail leading beautifully into another until the words blend together as one entity

you are welcome Chris..
This is astounding, Chris. There is nobody here who does this quite like you. Every word, every deliberate placement...every...pause...simply astounding. I scold myself for being inattentive with you from time to time, and I use the appropriate...pause breaks ;-) Life really does have a way of getting on top of you, you know? So...my absence, long as it may have seemed to you, was infinitely longer for me. I'm sorry I've been a stranger. I'm working on making things right, starting with all 321 RRs in my queue ;-) Hope to see you in there. And thank you so much for sharing this with us!

You should never stop laughing. A lost love can never be replaced but we can still find happiness.
