Chapter 4 - "Saturdays' Breath..."

Chapter 4 - "Saturdays' Breath..."

A Chapter by Chris

Chapter 4 - “Saturday’s Breath…”

A pause at:

In nutshell, legend or layman

A Poem by Linda alexander

http://www.writerscafe.org/writing/lalexa1234/1315636/

led to

“Cubic Zirconia…”

we are many facets,

some rough - barely hewn,

some polished - all aglow,

some ...just bare dirt-encrusted stone.

We sooooo want black and white...

til it's us doing as we must or

just barely can.

A pause at:

old acquaintances acquiescing

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

http://www.writerscafe.org/writing/erin-cilberto/1315760/

led to:

“Life-Scapes…”

Dreams are as we find them

times and ways surround

and the breath... is still held

the eyes... sooo focused

the heart imagines all on its own -

and we ...have such sad, silly smiles...

again.

A pause at:

Missing Atticus

A Poem by Mollie Fitzner

http://www.writerscafe.org/writing/molliefitz58/1306706/

“Images From The Rocks…”

To Kill A Mockingbird”... Atticus... still memorable to this day.

What IS in a name… just the power to pause us in mid-breath when we perceive …ah, when we perceive
e v e r y t h i n g and nothing - somehow all at once.

"…still a man hears what he wants to hear and disregards the rest…" S&G* tones.  Do you feel the waves?

The ones you hear inside - even when the eyes are open and the world is watching…

Sunrise, sunset** …in the Porgy & Bess*** image so drawing and holding. Isles and aisles to walk and pause
…and wish upon clouds and stars and dreams of ones and two's. Walkin' in the waves and thoughts …so
melancholy some days and your footsteps fade to existence before you dare turn around and see how alone you are.

Chris

*S&G = Simon and Garfinkel’s “The Boxer”

**Sunrise, Sunset " Fiddler On The Roof

*** Porgy & Bess: Gone Gone Gone

“Life Is…”

Life is being ...life -

mean and thoughtless -

cold, cruel, and

in my face - intense.

Life is being ...life.

Life is what it is

For me - the alternative is unacceptable...

and yet for some

that ...alternative...

is a choice...

and they make it breath-by-breath.

Life is being

...and not.

Life is …measured in my tears...

breath-byes-breath.

The ending of this chapter is very sad. I laud how you included other writers in here, though. Good reading

I'm glad you came by... thank you
I waited with a friend..until I couldn't any longer
His fingers tight around the edges of Life..!
Love and regret and Love and Love and oh so gentle breath.

Resting today, with a little fever.. but I will go back
Every one I ever knew and lost, was there
Emotions entwined in a thick air of ghost and old tears
Life was the point of being..there
And I came away with more than I brought..as always

You share THE experiences and THE experience of a life, and lives
And once again I realize how differently and the same, we inhale
and exhale the breaths of life...........

be well .. smile when possible, and especially when near impossible ..
You are loved and thought of often............

me.

Well, I didn't know you put those lines in a poem! Always good reading, my friend. And a message - definitely always a message. I hope the tears are from sweet thoughts and not sorrows. However, that last line makes me wonder...
