"For My Friend..."

"For My Friend..."

A Poem by Chris
"

Just about missing

"

"For My Friend..."

“Does the silence ever help?

Can the voice ever fade?

Will the tears ever dry,

...the night say goodbye?”

I feel lost sometimes

- really do,

in all the whys and circles -

mind-paced

heart-traced

over and round and

over

again and through

and still I wonder so many whys

ways

reasons found, lost,

given, taken

accepted, thought ...unknown

re-lived.

All the questions ever and never answered

...so many

just

reasons -

reasons for the deep circles

my mind has brought into existence

as I listen and listen

to so many echoing heartbeats

- moments now frozen

in time and thought,

place and memory -

existence and

…not.

- even mine are a part -

Each a calling and calling for a presence

- some that were and others

that had never been.

There’s hurt and

pain in sharing

the moments of smiles and

our understandings of

meaning and meanings  both found

and lost

and yet we touched

we touched …you and I

in ways I miss

…again.

Laters…

Where it hurts the most is where they live. For some, I will just be a pain in the a*s :) Laters...

I was doing fine until the ending of your poem. Now there are tears in my eyes for my missing friend, because it is remembering our shared smiles that hurts way more than remembering our moments of when we no longer sparkled in each other's eyes. Thanks for sharing your beautiful poem.

LOL hahahahaha
Your words echo power. I used to feel lost; sometimes, we have to find ourselves. I find myself gripping my seat with each line, great read :)

This is lovely, seamless, really. I got entirely too caught in the " deep circles" you outlined... Oh, and hello, Chris!

well thank YOU... for pausing and the good thoughts...
There are ways of saying I've been there and I know. And this is one of the best I've seen.

Hi Ken, I appreciate your pause and the thoughts.
Lost in the whys and the circles... yes, that is exactly how it is... This poem pulls at the soul, Chris...

this really stabs my heart, Chris...i remember my friend Paula...my best friend who died in a fire many years ago...she was only 27...the sweetest, most caring person...why does it happen to the best of us...

and yet, those who are mean, nasty, takers...they live to be 100...

i still talk to her...she is still very close to my heart.
thanks for this write.
