"Midnight's Aren't So Sweet Anymore..."

"Midnight's Aren't So Sweet Anymore..."

A Poem by Chris
"

Monday morning thoughts

"
This is for you - well, you KNOW who you are... and so do I.

"Midnights Aren't So Sweet Anymore..."
Yet another dark's Midnaught
revery
on a coffee morning...
life as we find in a moment's silence
and yet we are so unique in our darks,
within our ...echoes.
...continuing as we go...
Yours is
yours and unlike
mine or hers or theirs
AND theirs
are unlike ours as well
and yet we share
such sunrise and the rising wisp
of fading dreams and memories
- within coffee's grip.
I hear the voices
of life in death -
each as crystal - chalice clear,
as my eyes scratch a path deep
so very hurt full ...deep
behind the echoes fading as they fall
in and ever in
...memories one ...and all.
I loved you, love you...
breathe you...see you - still
...why not me...why not
me?  So many I's in you.
I wasn't innocent ...enough,
nor good ...enough,
nor the one deserving stars and dreams.
I just am left ...shaking
in the night; standing,
waiting, counting unshared memories,
living with the shadows,
crying with the whispers filling
the midnights left living
wishing... needing...
missing...
all our dreams.

This echoes in places deep within. Left an ache.

some times we are lucky enough to find the one that hears us heart to heart..

This one leaves a taste -- of bitter tears and sugared coffee and longing for what might have could have wasn't should have been ... you are one hell of a poet, friend.
