"Love Is..."

"Love Is..."

A Poem by Chris
"

Having THAT kind of day are we?

"

"Love Is..."

…sitting…

The dark …palpable - tight,

a depth so encompassing, so enveloping,

pressing …complete and unbroken - edge-to-edge

broiling and roiling, the forms scudding and sparking

scattering shattering jumbles of flashes so bright it isn't light

just afterimages burning in and in as

towering - horizon full…unending shifts and swirls as

wind - world-pushed and life-twisted by the unceasing ROARS

of seamless noise and force shredding all that you are…

…a car's tires…the gravel of the driveway,

motor humming… ceased…silence…the CHUNK.

…hands - clenching hands - busy hands…

reaching…busy busy turning

fingers moving - hands

…footsteps…footsteps…f o o t s t e p s

on the sidewalk…up the steps…'cross the porch

omgomgOMG shiver…shivers…shaking…breathing -

am I breathing?!? Am I - AM I…

waiting...w a i t i n g... WAITING

and the door opens

...HOME.

“…that kinda day again huh? …”

Chris

Darkness can be soooo personal and dealing isn't limited to just the one person - is it?  A particular moment can be beyond any person's capacity to deal with and yet we sometimes MUST reach beyond what we have - to deal with what we perceive.  And life isn't fair - it just happens.

love is not only having "that kind of day" but being able to share that day with our significant other.

i really like this...reminds me so much of that anticipation waiting for that person that makes my heart flutter....wanintg to share everything with her...

and again, i like the two poems in one.

I just wrote something with a similar this afternoon and posted it. I was thinking that love lives in so many small things. You illustrated it perfectly here. The anticipation, the waiting. It's in the footsteps...the footsteps.... For me, it's his car in the garage, his breath next to me... and so many other small moments.

It was nice of you to pause with me... I hope you return.
I like this form and shape as it evolves into your feelings and emotions.
I know this feeling and it is real.
"scattering shattering jumbles of flashes so bright it isn't light

just afterimages burning in"---love this part!

A moving though-provoking piece Chris;

Love is the first Musing not the Afterthought...

Love is … filled with yearnings that boil
yearnings to share warmth
share moments born in feathersoft touch
- nights lost within contented sighs
where lovers hold each other
until the blushing dawn.
