"Listening To The Rain..."

"Listening To The Rain..."

A Poem by Chris
"

...we do that don't we...

"

We don't always know how we'll react to a "voice", a sound, thoughts …perceptions… or even a …now.

“Listening To The Rain…”

So many whispers echo behind the eyes,

wishes soft of future past

and tomorrow's never come -

and silly lil tears that burn

and meander round-and-around

and around -

a silence so vast

that the echoes…

the echoes …cry.

There are really, really long sequenced "thoughts" within the 41-ish pages posted here at WC... and .. read more
I've always felt there's a strange connection between listening to the rain and past memories cropping back up, no matter how they happen. The inner silence can be deadly...
Lovely expressions here. Nice reading you.

It's been awhile, nice seeing you here again.
A timely poem for today, just not raining

Oh I've reviewed this before but that wasn't hardly a review. Anyways, I did mention the personification of the rain which stood out to me nicely. I think by putting personalities on things like that can make us appreciate and understand those things more. Once we start seeing the characterization and beauty of an object/thing it becomes a piece of us we cherish. Poetry speaks life with words, and you did just that! Very nice, Chris.
Have a nice day!

Heart searing. Your writing is as always beautiful. I wish I had something more profound to say than that. But I don't so I'll leave it at that.

What is more profound than being touched that deeply?
Sadness mixed with begrudging acceptance...I always carrying g that little nugget around with me in a lint filled pocket. Good write... got me thinking.

Coffee and the early mornings "darkness" leads to many pauses...
Sometimes the reintroduction of a person, or a place, and maybe just a remembrance of a time has power that we are unaware of

...and sometimes we well KNOW that "power" all too well...
