Memories On A Sunday Morning..."

Memories On A Sunday Morning..."

A Poem by Chris
"

Life paused - really, it did.

"

“Memories On A Sunday Morning…”

Tis a chill and rainswept day til just now…

life just paused.

How goes your week's end so far?  Something new behind your eyes?  Melodies and dreams?  Do you dream - for real now …do you?  And what flavors them?  Would you "touch" them?

Sigh…

Thought-full rain

echoes within

as each sky-tear flows

the intervening walls

and I …I… imagine

what it is to dream -

dreams of thoughts,

thoughts of dreams

and dreamers …dreaming

of softness

of tender moments - memories

of fading times

…and peoples' echoes

and what is the touch of fingertips trailing

across breathless lips…

the taste of closeness,

the lidded eyes burning into

…mine

and how hard it IS

to remember how to breathe,

when to breathe

- and even IF you ever WANT to breathe again.

Such are rainswept moments

as sky-tears flow

…and the coffee sits

lost and forgotten.

I can only imagine what heaven would be like. Everything I've ever dreamt at my fingertips. Sure pure peace all the time. We all know this life is only as real as you think it is. But really all we are are only vessels with spirits filling them. I thoroughly enjoyed this, Thank You!

Nice to meet you too!
Sometimes it can happen like that. A pause and we can drift away like a dandelion seed in the wind. Not quite knowing where we will end up. I liked this read very much.

All good. Enjoy.
Are you sure you weren't sipping on a cup of freshly brewed coffee, letting the anticipation of its comfort transport you, as your mind daydreamed within its thoughts? Splendid

Hmmm, now that YOU mention it ...I'm sure I wasn't. But I had to think on it.
Chris,
Quite the romantic interlude . . . full of yearning (a word not used often enough). Memories . . . how can a mindless brain conjure up such things?! No the mind is real and makes our memories Real. Thanks for sharing this.

We abide well in our own corner of The Twilight Zone...
wow, this is so contemplative....and so sad.
the coffee sits and gets cold...and the rain gets as cold as the moments remembered with fondness and tears.
your writes are so intricate, Chris.

Why does this resonate so much with me?? Ahhh prehaps its the dreaming heart of mine. Loving the feel of this piece Chris..There's a longing to it and still a hesitation, pondering moments of past...

Was a way out in the garden, clearing fallen limbs.. and I drifted to some-where-----
almost spoke out loud, and maybe I did ! I saw darkened hands, and dry lips, and still eyes.. travelers don't you know.. ..It was as if I was there with them, waiting for their journey to begin.. Hope a neighbor didn't hear me talking , OH WELL,More often I seem to be in between nows and thens, as you say, echoes, dreams and memories.... but no rain for me, dust swirling about, cats playing with my piles of limbs and leaves... and I caught myself crying, being that old silly me..once again....

This could fit into your other write about life pausing. In youth, a moment like this was special, private, suggesting the unknown of the future. At my age, the same moment is cherished, for what it is in the now. I know what happened in the past, happened. And it's that very same impression that enriches the present moment. I'm glad all that happened, led me to this time and place. And that's what your write reflected to me while reading it. Thanks Chris.

My goodness. This I like best of anything I’ve read in some time. I appreciate your writing being in a true voice, prose. I do so love it. Thank you for sharing.
