"Third Table From The Left..."

"Third Table From The Left..."

“Third Table From The Left…”

I wandered the Café today.  Found this:  Tears on the Boulevard

A Poem by Plainly Meg.

Heck of a question …Meg.  But a real one.

This made me look inside and thoughts started leaking.

For me, it's only when the reality within what I see …touches

behind my eyes… thank YOU.

Give the Lady a pause, your mind will notice.

“Third Table From The Left…”

I know why I wandered the Café today.

But not because -

It's raining here…

cold, the chill kinda cold.

The white noise silence.

A deep breath of Tuesday,

…always a Tuesday…

(do you talk your thoughts aloud?

And yeah - I’ve been known to -

a time or ten.)

I remembered Portugal;

a month circling Crete;

glaciers and fjords;

“To Missing Friends…”;

peacocks and gardens:

three-lane one-lane byways:

the M80:

…and then Istanbul.

I retouched “innocence”,

and naivete,

smiles

and the long, unseeing stares.

I can taste the echoes

…and that’s so wrong -

but it’s what we do now.

Guess I’ll go back to wandering.

Yeah, that’s it …wandering, and listening

and pausing

…to let the rain

…out…

Chris

Brilliant work. I like that you use the senses. Makes it come alive.

And I guess this cafe serves its purpose in that way; as a place to drop in, wander around and read before dropping a few thoughts of our own. It’s a bit of a journey back inwards and away from the harsh realities of the outwards.

to let the rain out ... what a great metaphor. Instantly had me thinking about what it is I've been doing through all the yrs I've been wandering about this little globe. To all the places you cite, and many more, and then I smiled, thinking ... yep, letting the rain out

Merry Xmas friend

"wandering the Cafe" -- exactly what you caught me doin . . . perhaps seeking reassurance I once had a brain, or I once knew how to join words in a sequence that made any sense. I can taste the echos that reverberate in your words, actually wishing time would bloody well backup, reset and give us a chance.

deeply emotive, Chris ... enjoyed the imagery and even more the "Cafe" metaphor .. we all come for various reasons; but when someone finds release from difficult times ... i think it is the best! thanks for the type on Plainly Meg .. i am headed her way now .. big Merry Christmas to you

Those words are places to rest in, to stay still and remember.. as one should. Looking back is a nothing because the past is part of the mind, re.discovered and valued.. makes a human even more human via the thoughts: extra special and memorable.

Many thanks for sharing what is needed and most definitely valued.

Nor'easters were always "fun"...
I really identify with these lines. You've rather captured my mood lately.
