"My Precious..."

"My Precious..."

A Poem by Chris

"My Precious..."

I dreamed of little things -
tiny, insignificant, meaningless to any but
me... things.
Memories I could hold - softly nuzzle, held gathered in a palm.
I lost them - taken by the years - one-by-one...
and tear-by-tear,
smile-by-smile... I died inside.

Chris...sometimes, just sometimes, I have no words for your writing, but I do have to gain my breath back after reading you xx

piece by piece we relinquish until one day we realize there is nothing left but the pain of loss.. oh.. and there... at the very bottom of the box.. what is this I see... ah yes.. it is HOPE... I choose not to die.. I choose to re-fill..

A very sad poem and a loss of special mementos along the way of life. All that is left are memories. A very well written poem. Loved it!

Oh, now this is just how I feel...memories don't matter to anyone but us, but sometimes they're all that gets us through. Living on moments...like some (guilty.) This hit home for me. Great work.

I like this one, I have to say I chose this one because of the title reminding me of Tolkien's work but I was delighted when I found it didn't not mirror anything my imagination brought because of the title. So well done it makes me cry!

You look good for a dead man. Never heard of a nip and tuck that didn't in some way improve one's outlook.

The dead are...brilliant conversationalists, then...oh; is that YOUR phone?
I hear dead people.

This was very heart felt. I really liked the poem. It was very powerful and too the point. Thanks for sharing.

Lost child-hood dreams? We all grasp tightly to not loose sight of these. Very short, but emotional write.
