"Whispers On The Wind..."

"Whispers On The Wind..."

A Poem by Chris

"Whispers On The Wind..."

...Hi...

Such a lil word           ...Hi...
for a lil world
whirling
and whorls

of whispered bits of
meaning-less and less and          ...Hi...
then nothing at all.

...Hi...
                             ...Hi...
I heard ...you -       ...Hi...

on my side of the

  water's ...Hi... fall
and leaned into tomorrow
...Hi...
   ...Hi...

'til the colors swirled and rose

and fell then flew and became rainbows

as unicorns walked and played
  beneath and through.

...Hi...                    ...Hi...
              ...Hi...

I've lost the flowers in my eyes
as for moments shared - we passed and passed ...Hi...
mine back and forth
and the petals floated loose and fell away

one-by-one...Hi...

scattered
lost and alone ...falling  ...Hi...

one

by

every ...one

'til even my heart found
...nothing more to say.

...Hi...  ...Hi...

  ...Hi...

Chris

Sometimes, there is nothing left to say--and the "Hi" says nothing and never touches the heart--lovely to read your work Chris

Sometimes, you really don't have anything else to say rather than HI.

"'til the colors swirled and rose

and fell then flew and became rainbows."

What a fantastic line. Very impressive work, sir.

This was a beautiful poem. I really enjoyed it. It reminds me that even though there are others there you are still alone...words begin to lose their meaning and pretty soon there is nothing left to say.

Ah my gentleman friend, your words are full of meaning, yet again. I picture the petals falling away with each "hi" until I'm left standing with a bouquet of stems and felling forlorn. When all is said and done, are we not each just... standing alone?

Oh my, sighhhhhing. Sitting back, feeling alive but calm, as if I've looked into a place where letters fall and float hand to heart, heart to hand. Such a gentle way of putting thoughts.

Hi Chris! [...how could I resist? ]

This reminded me of how a leaf cascades down from a tree, in a sashay fashion. Your "small talk" is a striking orchestration to nature...with the waterfall, rainbows, unicorns and flowers!

conveys the lighter-than-air emptiness of the smallest of small talk.

:) this is so lovely Chris :). those "hi"s feel indeed like the petals of a flower gently floating towards the ground, carrying with them the alternatives - does/ does not...
