The Star

This poem is dedicated to my yiayia who passed away in 2002.

Yiayia, to him, you were his shining star

And he could always believe the beauty of what you are

He built you a house from his own hands you know

The house filled with all the beauty that you sewed

The memories you left will always be in our hearts

In spirit you are here, but the body drifts apart

Though you may be gone, your spirit lives on

Carries us through the easy and the hard ones to overcome

And every challenge that is placed within our way

We know someday, it will all be okay.
