A Poem by Andre Waters II

A sharp thread,
A poised head,
That's what I hear
A strong defense holds us as I appear
A deep spiritual mind
Keeps me calm and devine
Limitless to the emotional strength of mine.

I've been hit, armor has been pierced
The sow, so tight, finally unstitched.
Disoriented, walking through the forest
Vision is blurred, which way is which
The stealth in me has been matched
I've been blindsided by the attack
Unaware of the attackers direction
But I'm not sure if this was an ambush for I am unharmed
But my movement slowed.

I'm not sure of this
It seems so suspect
But I'm coming back to my senses
With my chest feeling new
The vision gets clearer
Vivid becomes of the view
I'm careful observing as my stealth gets restored
To scan for another ambush in case it goes different from before
Walking carefully into the path
Carefully to my habitat not noticing that I'm leaving a trail
No wounds or holes, but spilling the fluids
I'm tongue tied, nothing spoken
I'm unsure how, but it is clear that I'm open.

I've been asked to write more in my natural style, my natural flow, and though most of my pieces are, this is as I thought it, and spoke it. This is me, opened.

You start off in rhyme and it kinda vanishes after the first stanza, was that an intentional move or was that just accident?

I liked the idea of a solider in a forest. A forest is a good representation for life. I just wished you had incorporated that sort of imagery in the first stanza too.

I really liked the idea of this. One finds deep spiritual truths not just in making a conscious decision to, but in the trials we face on this earth that help shape our faith and perception of things. I also get a sense of humility and that humility also helps us get a better sense of ourselves. The first stanza makes me think of someone who is proud of their standing in their faith and then the rest of the poem shows me someone who is humbled by circumstances, but also renewed in spirit. I think anyone can relate to this if they have faith.

Thanks for posting! Have a great day!

I've used warning signs, focal points and makeshift gauges. I've moved further than I ever thought I could, but I'm still missing a lot more than I thought I would. That doesn't stop me from moving cl.. more..
