Simple Pal

Simple Pal

A Poem by Andrea Vargas

We sat together in a still meadow,

listening silently to our beating hearts,

perfectly still our cast shadow,

our words unspoken,

no slurrs of piercing darts,

we felt the movement all around,

listening silently to every sound,

hearing only a simple bell,

as we turned to eachother,

and saw we had a simple pal.
