Sad

Sad

A Poem by Andrea Vargas
"

sometimes I find myself sad!

"

In the world we are blessed,

yet in life some are cursed,

I'm that some.

We hide in allusions,

as the fabrications of life overtake us,

Yet they warn me not to fuss.

We try to belong,

but they fight for are failure,

Its the repeat of a sorrowful song.

We lived through society,

we conqured what they failed,

Yet alone I continue to feel.

You know Andrea, you employ in this piece one of my favorite psychological devices of all time, the disclosure of vulnerability. This kind of writing, never gets old, all confessional and cozy, I REALLY enjoyed this read.

This underlining trick felt really original and authentic in your use of it here.

Life is written throughout this poem. I can see it. What "they" say, and what "the world" believes, as opposed to what you feel, and what you think. This poem expresses your feelings, and my favorite line is "as the fabrications of life overtake us" because all of us truly do eventually give in to what we live in, and just take things as they come.
