Bye Bye

Bye Bye

A Poem by Stan Lee
"

Inspirations: Kirk, "Blackbird" - The Beatles, "The Cardturner" - Louis Sachar.

"

Bye bye Blackbird

You've gone now Blackbird, away you fly

Failing completely means failing to try

So leave behind the ones that cry

Bye bye Blackbird

Bye bye

Bye bye Blackbird

Behind an aching heart and teary cheek

The days flew by but there's no winning streak

No waiting time now, you may speak

Bye bye Blackbird

Bye bye

Bye bye Blackbird

Dead to the world that was never kind

You thought you could leave and no one would mind

If you don't seek you'll never find

She sings, Bye bye blackbird

Bye bye

Sad but resolute is right. Thanks for your kind review Shannon. :)
Reminds me of two Beatles songs, blackbird and cry baby cry. Though I say this, it's lovely in its originality. Lovely poem.

Cute :) :)
You have some really good lines in this poem. It's a piece you have to read once quickly for the smooth rhythm and reread super slowly to get everything the words communicate.

Thanks Riddhi! Appreciate you reading and reviewing. :)
Been a while but I am finally here to read your piece and wow this is such a good piece. Lyrical to the bone, love the way it rhymes. At first thought the bye bye was jarring but then it just grew on me ^^. The structure is obviously well maintained. Loved the message you have portrayed here. Beautiful words, and they pack quite the punch. Thank you for sharing ^^

Aw, Thank you so much Relic. That's really kind of you. Glad you like it. :)
This so lyrical.. like a song, humming all the way.
I haven't listened to the 'blackbird' by beatles, but I just did now :)
These lines are so melancholic,
"Failing completely means failing to try
So leave behind the ones that cry"

- Beautiful and words just flow like breeze all through this poem.
It may be a farewell, or look-back or a tale of forlorn self..
All I can see vivid and stark in it is.. deep sense of losing something, that was priceless..

Thanks for sharing, Andronicus :)

I loved it!
The blackbird reminds me of Edgar Allan Poe's poem 'The Raven'.
Keep it up!!
