Bye Bye

Bye Bye

A Poem by Stan Lee
"

Inspirations: Kirk, "Blackbird" - The Beatles, "The Cardturner" - Louis Sachar.

"

Bye bye Blackbird

You've gone now Blackbird, away you fly

Failing completely means failing to try

So leave behind the ones that cry

Bye bye Blackbird

Bye bye

Bye bye Blackbird

Behind an aching heart and teary cheek

The days flew by but there's no winning streak

No waiting time now, you may speak

Bye bye Blackbird

Bye bye

Bye bye Blackbird

Dead to the world that was never kind

You thought you could leave and no one would mind

If you don't seek you'll never find

She sings, Bye bye blackbird

Bye bye

Thanks for reading.
Nice. Like the rhyme scheme and the lesson behind the prose.

Thanks Dalton. Glad you liked it. :)
A lovely write and I, as you suggest with just the name, think "Beatles". I had a photo of a blackbird I took this summer and I wrote a piece to go with it, but it does not have any depth. Your piece has it all. Thanks,

Welcome !!! I did like it very much
This sounds similar to the Beatles song blackbird - very nicely written for a sad farewell

This is beautifully written and very sad. Those that go "bye bye" are quite selfish. It's very hard on those they leave behind.

You're welcome Andronicus.
Reading your poem reminded me of a Great White Egret I was observing the other day. Tall and elegant, it seemed oblivious to everything going on around it. It concentrated on a small drainage ditch as it walked along its bank, look for minnows and crawfish. There was almost a Zen quality about its concentration. I called out to it and asked, “How's fishing?” It looked at me with disdain. Foolish human.

Good work. If you make people think, you've succeeded as a poet.

Thank you. One day the blackbird might fly back, but if it doesn't, here's my farewell.
Poignant and eloquent piece!
The awaiting freedom and the vast sky for the black bird reminds me of how trapped we all feel sometimes.
Relatable and profound.
Loved it Andrea! :)
