Lessons Learned Young

Lessons Learned Young

A Poem by AndyJM

Red and yellow and pink and green,
Purple and orange and blue,
We can never forget the things we've seen,
You'll never care what you put us through.

Black and brown, one and down,
White to red, and back,
Laugh? Or frown? You'll keep your crown,
It's just the rest you lack.

Blue to green, the hurt unseen,
Such fear amidst the joy,
What fun it's been, for me I mean,
To prove you're still a boy.

So here I sit, and broken still,
But still I'm me, despite your will.
