It's too late

Just read.

Death, why do you knock on my door so?

Why do you call my name, beckoning for me to join you?

Death, you have never sounded so beautiful in all my life.

Do I let go, do I leave behind this life?

That seems to be the question I am left to ponder.

What do you offer me, Life?

You've showed me kindness, but you have showed me pain as well.

Life, why do you test me?

I am reaching my breaking point, I am about to turn my back on you.

Will you let me go?

Will you let me walk away from this life I lead?

Will you release me into sleep, into the loving hands of Death?

I am curious.

What will you be like, Life?

When I have passed on, what will you be like?

My guess is the same as it is now, no change really will occur.

Life, won't you let me leave?

Death, won't you take me?

Reminds me of my earlier writing.

Your poem was beautiful, but it also reminded me of the temptation's that Death tries to offer from time to time--especially when everything seems bleak.


I feel as if my review should also be in the form of a poem.

Though death holds a scarlet letter with the dried blood of forgotten memory; take caution against the apparition's all-consuming pen. As it will persist to blot out the love and light that will never be written, and try to impede a story all too special to be forgotten.

Either way, you expressed a lot of into this--it invoked kind of a feeling of Nostalgia when I was in a dark time in my life with being bullied. It was a hard thing to overcome especially when Death seemed to be quite tempting.

I'm ready to let go. Of life, of faith, of hope. I don't see the point in it anymore. It was so easy to write this poem.. and it frightens me.
