A Sleep Song for an Insomniac

A Sleep Song for an Insomniac

A Poem by Angel Rousseau

A Sleep Song for an Insomniac
by A.R.

When you think nobody

can hear you, let me
listen to the way
your voice breaks in
the alarming daylight
I need to know that
you are alive through
the cadence of your
shallow breath, so;
breathe, breathe anthems
that will always and never
put me to sleep.

An intriguing poem with an unusual tone of voice that I rather like! It is a little difficult to understand how the piece fits in with it's title though, but other than that it's quite good.
