Iron

Iron

A Poem by A.D. Wilson

Iron-grey eyes

Would seem so cold

But they burn as hot

As the blacksmith's forge

Iron shield to protect

Iron sword to destroy

Your strength was tested

In ancient battles

Gladiators fighting

To the very last man

Iron shield to protect

Iron sword to destroy

Your enemies tremble

They piss themselves in fear

They run from you

Like cowardly dogs

Iron shield to protect

Iron sword to destroy

Your fire burns

Your enemies fall

Blood and Iron

Protector and Destroyer

Strangely enough, this was inspired by a picture of Paul Landers from Rammstein. I have the pic in my photo section. His eyes look iron-grey and I suddenly thought of gladiators, shields, and swords. Paul's eyes must be hazel, since they seem to change color. I have seen pics of him where his eyes looked brown, grey, blue, and green. The idea for the line "they piss themselves in fear" came from the Ich Will video, where a bank guard is so scared of Paul that he wets his pants! I think if this poem rhymed, it would make a good song.

I decided to update my profile and switch from Lovely Lyla to my real name (my initials, actually). The picture and name fit well with my fan-fiction writing, but clashed with my horror writing. It .. more..
