The Silence Closes In

The Silence Closes In

A Poem by TJ
"

Not one of my bests...

"

The silence closes in,

Surrounding me, disarming me,

Trying to grip at me,

Mangled arms reaching, twisting in fury,

And I could do no more

But watch the silence close in,

As the dead man played the violin,

Strings breaking, violently, grossly,

Blaming me for its faults

And expecting me to give in.

But you know what I did?

I howled to the silence,

Ripping through its barrier,

Ripping out its throat

And sipping on the blood of what was once called:

Silence.
