He Is

He Is

A Poem by Annebelle Ashire

He's a brother
He's a best friend
He's a lover
He's an angel I begged God to send

Passionate kisses
Non like what others share
My woes he dismisses
The look upon his face
No one else could possibly compare

Longingly we define our love
As gazing at the stars
So high up above
Curled up in his arms
This night is ours

When my tears begin to flow
He holds me tight
Whispering he'll never let me go
And soon everything will be alright

A Haven I never thought I'd find
Someone I can run to and not speak a single word
[he already knows]
His hands are kind
Even though he's heard it all before
It is always my voice that he's preferred

As I sleep he watches me
Brushes hair from off my face when I turn over
He sets who I am wild and free
He is my four leafed clover

Giving me a reason to smile
A reason to go on living
He may be gone at times for a while
But time can be forgiving

The smallest things could make us laugh
It is the smallest things that make this love so strong
[Over the phone, a candle lit bath]
We make the best of days while he's gone

He's all I'll ever need
I'm all he'll ever ask for
Together we "will" succeed
And with every passing day
We'll fall in love a little more
