Too Much Time To Think

Too Much Time To Think

A Poem by Annebelle Ashire
"

Never Good With I

"

[Let me feel anything -
Anything but this tormenting pain...
Take away this metamorphosis;
This familiar strain . . . ]

Heavy eyes that do not sleep -
Forcibly stare open past midnight sheep -

There's not much reason left to dream . . .
Just more hopes and wishes swept away in a scream...

As one falls between craters left behind by acid tears -
One pays close attention to forgotten fears . . .

Nestled between good and bad . . .
Fighting for what one might have had . . .

Go back in time and watch the ink fade -
Attempt to erase the scars from the blade -

Old tattered clothes lay folded behind endless pleas . . .
With stains of blood and alcohol,
When one couldn't find the keys . . .

Once forgotten memories flood their poison lies
Back into a tampered heart -
Painfully -
Slowly -
Seeping in and tearing one apart -
