If This Helps

If This Helps

A Poem by Annebelle Ashire

Rainbows and Smiling faces,
Candy canes and wonder places.
You want a pleasant dream of mine,
Then visit my mind come night time.

Roses and Candy hearts,
Kisses and colored cards.
Are you kidding me that effing smarts,
Send my disregards.

Happy times and joyful writes,
Please don't change my very ways.
I don't like talking about sugar and teddy's,
Or flying kites.
I'll always find a way to write about my days.

You just don't understand,
Or is it that you won't?
That what I say may be my poetic meadowland,
Or is it that you really don't?

The words I write with my finger tips,
Are the words you will soon speak with your reddened lips.
And the thoughts that roam my mind,
Are the thoughts you will soon search to find.
