I Won't Save You

I Won't Save You

A Poem by Annebelle Ashire

Just how strong are your wings.
When you're falling from the ground?
When do you think you'll need,
Help getting back up?

Because,

[chorus]
I won't save you. No matter how much blood.
No matter how much pain, I'll watch you fade
Away, you did the same to me.
[chorus]

You left my side the day, the day I
broke my wings. Youd didn't mend them
back, but you walked away from me!

[chorus]

And you're falling faster now, as you reach
your sweet death.
You're falling faster now, look around you
One last time, scream! one last time,
And make a wish, with your last breath!

[chorus x2]

Your wings, replaced with bones.
Nothing, to keep you up, you're
Always falling down!
Just how strong are your wings
When you're falling from the ground?

When do you think you'll need,
Help getting back up...because,

[chorus....yelling]

What makes this piece best is the author's note. It puts a whole new light on it for me.
"One last time, scream! one last time,
And make a wish, with your last breath!"
I feel so desperate when I read this...in dire need of help. I believe we are our own worst enemy and also our best supporter. Great write. It flows smoothly. Nice choice of words. So much emotion
