*Permanent* You

*Permanent* You

A Poem by Annebelle Ashire

Broken to be numb again.
Cry the words I cannot speak.
Lying wide awake I close my eyes,
Just to disappear.
I cannot see,
Cannot see the way you're looking at me.
How can you tell where I stand?
How can you tell, what I'm thinking.
I don't understand.

((chorus))
Permanent you! You're always around.
Permanent you! You, hardly make a sound.
((chorus))

But I can feel you, with every bone in my body,
I can feel you, swimming through my veins,
It hurts so bad (it hurts so bad).

(chorus)

But I can hear you, whisper in my ear, you.
I can hear you, lies that are so near you.

I'm broken to be numb again,
So I don't,
Have to feel you,
Have to hear you,
Have to listen anymore.

I live with this every day,
I don't know what to do.
All I see and all I feel,
Is,

Permanent you.
