"Aspiration"

"Aspiration"

A Poem by Annebelle Ashire

[If one did not know better]
I would say that ink runs through these veins.
Across the rippled pad of blue
and red lines manifesting my letter
Waiting to create the unmistakable inky-black remains.

I have been told
and I must say that I agree
That the art of the poet will never tire or grow old
so long as your words are always your number one nominee.

I admit
    There are some books
full of words
    that I have stashed away.
But they never truly have to wait
    For "my" rainy day.

When I pass on years from now
    my head will twirl with delight;
From every unknown mind who has read
each word that I have spun that somehow found its flight.

When I pass on years from now
a pen will rest in one hand
while sits a scrap of napkin in the other.
Exactly how I've always penned my words
and I owe this random talent to my mother.

See,

    I will always write
I will always think
    I will always reinvite
The way I speak through ink.

[Aspiration is my every Argumentation]
