A familiar realisation

A familiar realisation

A Poem by King of the North (but only on weekdays)
"

A poem of false promises

"
He sinks his teeth into your neck
There will be no more pain my child
You thank him, you praise him, you feed him
You wanted this, he reminds you
The blood flows straight from your veins, to him directly
Your mind drifts to thoughts of how you deserve this
The sleepless nights
The many women you brought him
The many men too
You lured them all and watched their entrapment
Watched as they lay in the spiders web, waiting to be fed upon
And now here you are
Like meat
And yet, this time would be different
You were no mere foolish mortal
You always knew you would be more
Master saw it too
And so he granted you a purpose
Familiar he called it
His slave, his loyal assistant
Do thy bidding, he would say
And so you did, night after night
Now here you are, your master feasting on the very flesh of your own neck
You did good
You earned this
He will grant you what you wish
Immortality, ever lasting life
Make me like you are
I want it so dearly
And so the teeth did come down
And the flesh it was pierced
The process did begin
But as you look to your master
Kind master, merciful master
Master shows no signs of stopping
Quite the opposite
You try to kick, you try to scream
But you feel woozy, almost sleepy
You begin to drift, and slip to a sleep from which you know yourself you will not wake
And so you go
Soon, very soon
Your mind tries to fight it
Your body betrays you
He betrays you
You are his familiar
His slave
His assistant
You are not his friend
You are the promise he will break
You are his meal for this evening

What a brilliant piece!

It has a wonderful flow (I would just advise watching the longer lines as they could break the readers eye away too much).

I'm sure most people can relate someone from their own lives to the master. It is saddening yet from the outside it is easy to predict the outcome.
Though I doubt it was your original motivation, it does in ways reveal the way that negative romantic relationships can drain the life from a person, despite the effort said persons puts into them.
