Happy Republic Day

Today is the day when we got our constitution,

Exactly 65 years ago we became a republic,

Our Tricolor is our identity,

It is our symbol of unity and prosperity,

People of all religions live in this beautiful land,

In spite of so much diversity, united we stand,

A country having 29 states and 22 official languages,

Has taught the world about peace and humanity,

"Vasudev Katumbukam" the message our country gives,

"The whole world is one family" which means,

We gave the world zero,

This land of 125 crores is full of heroes,

70% of our population is under 35,

So despite of having so much history we are still young,

Yes there are problems a galore,

But this young country believe in fighting with them all,

The world is acknowledging our feat in the universe too,

We reached the Mars at our very first try with the cost of only $74 million,

Kailash Stayarthi got the noble for peace,

Fighting for survival of childhood is no mean feat,

We the people of this country are proud of this land,

And we are always ready to contribute to its grand success,

As our constitution enters 56th year,

I salute the all the brave martyrs and our soldiers

I like the above concept. I'm 1/2 Ojibwa and I believe one world and one people. We must get along. I enjoyed the history and thank you for allowing me to be part of this celebration.

Pride in ones country seems rare and shouldn't be.An example in Canada the fine for littering is $50.00 and the fine in U.S. is $500.00 why is there less litter in Canada than the U.S.?Pride is the answer.You have shared a strong message about having pride in your country.
