The Torn Picture

The Torn Picture

A Poem by Jaded Sky

The fragments of a picture scattered around a room

Each piece a vague shadow of 2 people

Tattered and torn

The complete picture now utterly unrecognizable

Piece's in array in the same room

But stranded two worlds apart

One frail over used piece of tape

Trying tediously to fuse the pieces together

Only to find half the piece's thrown crumbled and unusable

Covered in shoe prints, and trampled on like blood red leafs in autumn

Not blowing in the wind, But still a prelude to a colder, dormant season

Half the puzzle piece's of the photograph now loosely stitched together

It resembles a person, who I once loved

After coming to the realization that this person is me

I concede to the thought of mending this picture

that once conveyed love and happiness to me

Letting it be thrown away in defeat
Back where it belongs, where is was torn and abandoned

Leaving it half whole and always incomplete

The crippling realization that its unreconcilable.
