As the Sky Falls

As the Sky Falls

A Poem by Apebble

Watch as the sky soars,
Plainly, above your head.
The so called limit,
Of those alive and long since dead

Watch as the sky cracks,
Just slightly along the seam
Listen as people whisper,
And children start to dream

Watch as the sky shatters,
And light starts a never ending war
Reigning supreme for so long,
But the dark must come once more

Watch as the sky falls,
Night taking place as king.
The day lost, but will rise,
When the birds begin to sing

Look at the sky’s pieces,
Barely shimmering on the ground.
Hear the quiet voices,
Making the day’s first sound

Look at the sky join together,
Peaking just over the trees.
The people awake for the day,
With a coffee or cup of tea

Look at the sky rise above,
Back in its rightful place.
The day is now on the throne,
Darkness gone- without a trace

Look at the sky soar,
Gloriously before your eyes.
The keeper of the morning,
The essence of life - in disguise
