Am Now Found

Am Now Found

A Poem by Apebble

I started out a wanderer,
A vagrant without home.
So abandoned by hope,
Left out to die alone

Every whisper was poison,
Every sign leading the wrong way,
But I felt You watching,
No matter how far I strayed.

I came to a fork in the road,
Both lead to apparent death.
I denied to go any further,
Refusing to take another step.

I wasted away in denial,
That my paths seemed so dim-
There had to be something more,
Than a destiny so dreadfully grim.

Prowlers came in the night,
Seeking to fill me with despair.
They took my clothes and fled,
As I stood bruised without care.

I heard Your footsteps behind me,
So I raised my arms to defend.
I refused to be vulnerable,
I refused to let You in.

I tried to fight against you,
But You never took offense.
You simply stood with open arms,
Which hardly made any sense.

I grew restless of fighting
A war no man could ever win.
Now it was Your move to make,
But you only wished me to listen.

You told me You loved me,
Though I did not know Your name.
You said that You have watched me,
Though I never knew Your face.

You slowly walked to the road,
Where I had waited for years.
And as you pulled away the brush,
A new pathway appeared.

There were thorns along the way,
Robbers and thieves as well,
But the destination was grand,
A beauty I cannot even tell.

I looked far into Your eyes,
And saw something as precious as a song.
You loved me in my weakness
Yet wished me to grow strong

You set me off on my way,
But You never left my side.
Even now You are here,
Breathing in new life.

The journey won't be easy,
As it hasn't up till now,
But for You, it is worth it.
As I was lost, but am now found.
