Noise

Noise

A Poem by Lauren Applegrove
"

No matter where you go there is always some kind of noise.

"
Screeching, screaming, crying, laughter,
it pains behind my eyes.
Slamming, snapping, yelling, chatting,
it makes my anger rise.
Scratching, tapping, creaking, whispers,
forming static as it blends.
Hissing, popping, squeaking, echoes,
I cannot think, again.
Taunting, cheering, calling, tunes,
it forms some kind of beast.
squeaking, squawking, ringing, thumping,
and I beg for it to cease.
Cackling, crowing, shuffling, stifling,
silence should feel free.
buzzing, whirring, clacking, clicking,
it never does for me.
