Open Mic

Open Mic

A Poem by April Child
"

random jottings from an open mic/poetry evening...

"

Rooftop backdrop

redhead silhouette

lost her phone

six foot gnome

Alsorts, all sorts

wood swathed in purple

salt and vinegar

chocolate finger

Glowing red bulb

flickering teas and

a smattering

of fairy blue.

Upturned faces

catching phrases in

butterfly net minds.

Hi April- how are you?
Your writing is still as great as ever and this is different from what I remember of your writing.
Sure has a flow!
Love all the words flowing .. i really like this part

Glowing red bulb

flickering teas and

a smattering

of fairy blue.

Upturned faces

catching phrases in

butterfly net minds.

Love that image and thought.

A kind of kaleidoscope of the soiree.... nicely woven together and presented so that we feel the rare atmosphere and the intensity of the followers - with their butterfly brains!

I like the lightness in this - it floats and flutters nicely.

Wonderful, flow... you can feel the snappy flow as you read it... sounds like quite a trip into the twilight zone... a very fun piece.
