A Wish

If only life were so simple now.

I remember as a young girl,

I would search the night sky for a shooting star. 

Eager eyes, a hopeful heart,

I wanted to travel so far.

I look back on those moments,

When the only worry I had

Was that I'd make the wrong wish.

Should I wish for a puppy?

Or world peace?

If only I could go back.

If it were just the case..
Life wouldn't be enjoyable without any kind of challenge, would it? I think the challenges life gives us make us stronger and aware of the fact that negative emotions exist for a reason. Everything exists for a reason. Our responsibilities, our duties, our obligations, we have to do so much in life, and we seem to have so little time. You could say time is our most precious possession, maybe worth even more than money. I'd rather have time than money.
Anyway, nicely written, good job on this one :)

I absolutely agree, thank you for your insight. I guess when I was writing it, I wasn't really able to see the good in growing up, and having those negative emotions. But I definitely agree that that is what makes this life so beautiful.
