Knightly Regards

I followed a lone flame in hopes of a beacon
That guided me over to your glistening grace,
On the lonesome quest I took for knightly reason,
I witnessed the wisdom light the way to each place.


Within lies the essence of heartfelt compassion,
That granted the steel will to thank my pain,
And you were the muse who had nurtured my motion
To dance onward in the downpour of rain.





As I give my regards I see the wondrous fortitude,
That had aided emotion to find abode in honour,
Befriending fierce and false enemies in gratitude,
In heart alight to brave metal and magic through Dark Hour.


Now in solitary musing whilst I join the dots,
That connect the worlds where I have journeyed across,
Enlightened winds fly with velocities peregrine,
As a nourished soul roves with spirit evergreen.

A knight's story of his journey through this world in search of the shining light of hope is very articulated and narrated. The experience gained along the way gifted wisdom to the writer. I love the final line in the poem "As a nourished soul roves with a spirit evergreen", there are no truer words. Enlightenment is a precious gift we all strive to receive. As I find myself in solitary musing, I can't help but ask "when does this exhausting journey through life come to a conclusion and will it be a happy ending?"
I only ask because in not so knightly tradition, I keep falling off my damn horse and the last one near gave me a conclusion... I mean a concussion! 😀
