Just Another Casualty of this Cruel World; Suicide

Just Another Casualty of this Cruel World; Suicide

A Poem by Ariel
"

This is a poem I wrote for about my friend who is currently dealing with exactly this.

"

So dark and cold

The fear of letting the people you love

Slip through your fingers

As darkness encloses them

They're gasping for air

But their lungs fill with gassy poison

Their heart

Settles into andante

Their hands are steady as their world is in flux

Reaching for the murder weapon

Hands gripping tightly around the bottle of liquid fatality

Deep breath in

They lift the poison to their lips

Pausing just for a moment

Considering what they are about to do

But the way they see it

They're already dead

They have been for months

It's finally time for their body to follow suit

Poison fills the mouth of this victim

It stings all the way down their throat

The heart plunges

Ritardando

Then it stops

The song is over

Just another casualty of this cruel world

i enjoyed this because no matter what side you're on whether you're going through this or you're the friend of someone going through this, one is able to relate you do a good job capturing the feelings and struggles from both sides i just love this so much

This is really good, I like how you describe the feelings of the person and the effect it has on the people who love them and then the last line, to me, seems as though it makes the whole thing rather trivial. I like it - I like it!
