It's Prayin' On My Mind

It's Prayin' On My Mind

A Poem by Ariel Olivia

I admire your candor I really do…
But the weather is inclement and so are you
The walls and streets are crumbling slowly all around me
Words cannot explain my imprisonment of improvised excitement
The words I speak are impersonal to my ears
My actions are quaint & merciful
My life has become putrid and simple
Everything is thoughtless
& I am the parliamentarian in my own mind
I take things into my own hands
I implore for a passage out of these lands
Of deprivation and detainment
I have come to an end of a long lost gimmick.

Ariel, Is this really who you are ?
I thought Bonnie in the Bonnie and Clyde
poem was unlike you , but this ?'
I must be misreading you entirely .
All I have to go on is this lovely photo.
Looks like a sweet girl to me, but who
is this girl who is full of peesimism and doubt. ?
I would really like to know . I think you are
much better than you think you are.
Write and straighten me out. OK ?
---- John
