Out the Storm

Last month a tornado hit where I live. Thankfully no one was hurt, but it did leave some damage. So, I thought I'd write something to share my feelings.

In a storm

Wind blows strong

Consuming all entities

Ripping limb from limb

 

Wind blows strong

Sending off debris  

Ripped limb from limb

Only leaving a scar

 

Sending off debris

Deprive all from others

Only leaving a scar

And broken hearts to share

 

Deprive all from others

Did you not care when struck

And left broken hearts to share?

Only time will tell

 

Did you not care when struck

All homes and family functions?

Only time will tell

As we begin to ascend

 

All the homes and family functions

Plan to rebuild and move forward

As we begin to ascend

We thank God for our safe being

 

This day we will remember

As our peaceful days were shattered

But failed to dim our hopes

For we will live out the storm. 

Author's Note

I like to add that the poem form I used is the Pantoum form. I thought it be a good use for expressing the words and my feelings. Let me know what you think.

great metaphor for those periods of our lives where things don't go smoothly which can rip us limb from limb and leave gaping scars and in states of disaster.
