They Say Your Eyes Are the Windows Into Your Soul (Are you even looking?)

They Say Your Eyes Are the Windows Into Your Soul (Are you even looking?)

A Poem by The Last Poetic King

Sitting alone inside my head at night,
Drinking just to forget the s**t I said the night before
And I could've sworn I told you I was a mess before the storm
But what does it really mean? Do you really feel me?
Or is it some sort of game, you're chasing the end,
Trying to win,
Trying to score
And you had it in your mind that I was some sort of hero before
But now you see the demons in me
And I don't want your sympathy,
I am not someone who should be envied,
My life is a mess already and I got this whole life ahead of me
But...
You can't comprehend the words that come from my mouth
You think the words I say are just said because I am in a stupor,
But I told you that if you left me behind, you'd finally realize
I don't want your sympathy,
I am not someone who should be envied
My life is a mess already and I got this whole life ahead of me
And I am stuck going nowhere
