Selfish thoughts

Selfish thoughts

A Poem by Arundass TP
"

Nature of selfisness

"
Open's the window!
The Sun shiny,
Shows the art of nature!
With fragrance of flowers,
In the garden, beautiful.

It's mine, the heaven created;
The energy from self;
It is mine, the will;
To keep those plants blooming,

It's the power; from inner self;
To keep all squirrel's and birds enjoy more;
Look at those; the beauty of nature;
It makes me proud to be!

It's mine!
The garden here you see! Great!
Until;
The sun set's in the horizon; far

"I, my, me, mine"
Oh yes, it is all about me. Nature is doing all of this just for me.
We can be so self-absorbed sometimes.
And some folks just cannot think of others before themselves...ever.
very expressive write that carries a loud ring of truth.

Thank you so much, friend
Actually, if selfishness is spelled with a capital S, the poem reflects the philosophy of major religions. For if there is only one great Self underlying all, then nature and everything else does indeed spring forth from it.

Nature vs God vs Man ...thought provoking or I am way off track but I haven’t had my coffee and I do need a lot this morning. I like this poem, nice work of it

I've been reading a book about a legend in the field of conservation, here in California during the last century (gone now). This guy was super offended by the way hikers & packers go into the backcountry & consider everything there at their disposal. For example: I need a campfire, so lets burn up all this deadwood (instead of leaving it to regenerate the wilderness soil, etc.) I live near wilderness & it cracks me up how my neighbors are constantly changing the land to suit their idea of "beauty" & "order" . . . this poem just sets me off! Your irony is like a steel rasp grating my nerves (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

Thanks for inspiring comment
It's okay to be selfish for simple things in life, especially, I think because most people don't want to take the time out of their busy days to enjoy them. But I like to share what I am selfish of at the same time with hopes they too will one day be happy about the simple things like me. Wonderful poem! I very much enjoyed this write.

Thanks friend. If we all throw away the. Imagery of I or mine one can live in a different world.

I like this poem. It is the claiming of beauty within and without that we can appreciate those marvelous things. I like how you repeat things too. Kudos...
