Street Bookseller

A Story by Arundass TP
"

One day it happened

"
Street book seller, who sits in the corner displaying hundreds of book expecting curious to come, but one in hundred may be curious to ask George Orwell or Robin Cook, flipping pages of Earnest Hemmingway or Isaac Newton standing under the scorching heat of the Sun above, or pouring clouds standing under an umbrella, as if investigating a word or sentence or to criticize authors local or International not paying a penny, until time comes for their own business.

Bookseller expects thousands of dollars coming before sunset scratching hair on the head, tossing a penny looking every face trespassing. He never kept it after moon rise as Rats, Mouse’s and Mice’s tear the inevitable knowledge and chew it to satisfy their appetite.

Somehow he met a lady in the mid noon to chat and continued on daily basis. His heart bloomed out of love and affection to share a seat in the nearby restaurant and gave precious hardbound for her intellectual curiosity.

He never kissed her in the dark, but he used her in every aspect in his dreams. Fantasies tied him like a rope until dates are flipped again and again in each and every calendar.

He was crazy enough to lend his properties to her for his satisfaction until one day he realized that he was just a trespasser walking with a penny flipping Earnest Hemmingway, Isaac Newton asking George Orwell and Robin Cook! Criticizing local and International authors!

At last, she shouts at him for not giving a penny, for loosing precious business hours criticizing! Shattering his fantasies opening door of reality.

Laughed at the end, wondering just how.. and you flipped your start with your ending - places, faces, authors and passion flowing with near linguistic bliss!

'Weather' or not worth the 'not giving a penny' only the seller knows.

Aww, I melt on this story, Arundass TP,
I love books, especially the dollar ones,
I'm into science, so it is tangible to I.
There is so much authenticity in it, and a great pleasure to read,
