Hate Breeds Hate

Hate Breeds Hate

A Poem by adam26

Grunting and Struggling

The deadly tango

With a victim and a winner

And bystanders too

Muffled screams

Desperate pleas

The sound of bones mashing together

But the tango continues

Until a lessons’ been learned

The silence is the pain

The watchers choose not to speak

The victim guards his leftover pride

And the bully makes an example of him once again

This vicious cycle

Hate breeds hate

“It makes him into a Man”

He was recently knighted as a Man

As he lay bleeding on the cement

The victims

That’s my target audience

Those people who fear

Walking down the street

Walking to class

The simple pleasures

Haunted by new memories

Pain so great

You cry out when you’re alone

You have no one to turn to

Because the emotional effects

Hurt more than the beatings

Adults or kids

It can happen to anyone

Even people who “deserve it”

No one deserves this

To feel you’re not in control

Your own life

Out of your hands

Begging for mercy

Maybe he goes too far

Accidentally takes your life

Or you take your own

Ending the pain

But hate breeds hate

And there are people who love

Maybe you can’t see them

Maybe they can’t hear you

So speak up

So speak out

Hate breeds hate

This needs to end
