From My Heart

From My Heart

A Poem by Asilem
"

a miserable attepmt at a sonnet

"

It is with my heart from which I love you

And from my soul that I wish to prove it

Please, except my love which is oh, so true

And burns like the sun, never will it quit

It would bring a broad smile to my unfair face

If, as I love you, you love me in return

And not look at me with such disgrace

That life’s meaning dies without the love I could not earn

Or is it my love alone that brings you shame?

Not my lack of stunning beauty?

So much shame that you pretend not to know my name?

You think to send me away your duty?

Maybe now I realize I don’t really love you at all

But then how come with you, my heart so did fall?

To begin, I love the picture of this poem. Like the literal picture you uploaded. It's interesting. Now to the poem. It's stunning. It tells such an amazing story, a story I know all too well. When the other person is ashamed to have you be interested in them. That feeling of complete rejection, but you still can't let go. It started out really adorable, then the story line took an unexpected dip. I love that it was unexpected, but still completely relatable and truthful. Amazing job.

Wow! What a twist at the end. You started out so in love and wanting to share then not sure. Do of take rejection as something wrong with you. It is sometimes with the other person. :)

Thank you so much!
Love can drive us crazy. Hard to know right from wrong sometimes. I like the struggle in the poem. Love should be easy and not hidden. I did like the strong ending to the excellent poem.
