Author's Note

Mother Maggie
Worlds in queue
Mother Earth spinning
Dancing in darkness
Shining through the smoke
Her children the destroyers

Worlds in queue
As Planet dies—immersed in their poison
First world—slow to learn
Striking blow after blow
Cars, coal, consumption
Factories, Freon, fuming death
Metropolian miasma
First world greedily clinging
Now knowing—old habits die hard

Worlds in queue
As Planet dies—immersed in their poison
Second world, third world—understanding—waiting their turn
Striking blow after blow
Cars, coal, consumption
Factories, Freon, fuming death
Metropolian miasma
Second world, third world—hungrily advancing
Knowing—still grabbing their turn

One world in queue
As Planet dies—immersed in our filth
We cannot give up our own destruction
Striking blow after blow
Cars, coal, consumption
Factories, Freon, fuming death
Metropolian miasma
When will it be Her turn?

Mother Earth spinning
Dancing in the darkness
Shining through the smoke
Her children—Her destroyers
Will we ever learn?
